Ohi Day
About the holiday
Ohi Day remembers 28 October 1940, when Greece rejected the Italian ultimatum with a single 'No' and entered the Second World War. Flags fly from every balcony, students parade in every town and the military parade takes place in Thessaloniki. It is a national holiday and, since Law 4808/2021, a mandatory public holiday for the private sector as well.
